This individual works with some degree of supervision, with the goal to work more independently, to perform a variety of payroll, human resources or systems related assignments requiring some level of knowledge and experience in payroll and human resources theory and practices, policies, regulations and requirements and the systems that support them. This individual effectively communicates payroll situations to staff and management and is detail oriented with the ability to see the big picture, possesses technical skills with the ability to solve system challenges. Job Details

Job Responsibilities
1. Processes or assists with processing the biweekly/monthly payrolls for multiple companies incorporating pay rules from multiple labor unions, regulatory agencies and corporate policies and procedures.
2. Ensures HCM employee data is updated and maintained accurately and timely, including exception items such as retroactive adjustments, garnishments, deductions, etc.
3. Ensures adequate controls are in place and effectively performed to ensure the accurate and timely execution of the company's payroll and related processes and controls.
4. Leverages technology to process payroll in both Oracle HCM and ADP. Researches and analyzes payroll and HR situations and ensures appropriate solutions are implemented accurately and timely with minimal supervision.
5. Identifies and/or participates in the identification of enhancements and process improvements in payroll and human resource products, processes and services through process improvements and control techniques.
6. Provides operation departments with expertise on payroll processes and compliance matters and provide guidance and directions to PPL employees.
7. Designs and tests systems, processes, and solutions to support payroll and human resources processes and services. Includes User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in Oracle HCM, ADP and other systems as required
8. Assists with the setup of new companies resulting from spin-offs, acquisitions and/or divestitures.
9. Participates in payroll projects, including creating and monitoring project plans, project deliverables and communications. Provides training to employees, on payroll services,
10. Establishes and maintain effective working relationships with customers such as business lines, functional teams and other groups or individuals within HR.
11. Takes on additional responsibilities and projects willingly, as needed
12. Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

Basic Qualifications
1. Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and 2 years of relevant business experience OR 4 years of relevant experience.
2. Experience with and working knowledge of payroll and human resources regulatory reporting rules and requirements. Strong controls focus and thorough understanding of controls concepts and techniques.
3. Knowledge of payroll and human resources practices, policies, requirements, regulations, processes, and techniques.
4. Experience with payroll software packages (ex. ADP).

Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
2. Four years of relevant experience.
3. CPP, FPC or other relevant certification is beneficial.
4. Knowledge of corporate structure, policies and procedures, business line operations, and general business practices. Excellent decision-making skills.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement techniques and methodologies.
6. Good PC skills including Office, Email, report writing with multiple tools.
7. Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
8. Demonstrated excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
9. Experience with payroll set up and design during mergers and acquisitions is a plus.
