Job Details
The Accountant II plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position requires expertise in fixed asset accounting and collaborates with the accounting team and internal stakeholders to support financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset tracking, acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Create and review journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and explain revenue and expense variances.
Prepare financial compliance reports for submission to relevant agencies.
Develop and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls.
Ensure accuracy of data within financial systems and reports.
Support audit preparation by compiling necessary documentation.
Process government contract billings and ensure accurate invoicing.
Assist with annual budget preparation for grants and contracts.
Communicate with agencies and contract managers regarding billing inquiries.
Process and code vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Address payment inquiries from vendors and internal teams.
Enforce company policies related to expense reporting and invoice processing.
Record and reconcile incoming payments, such as rent, donations, and cost-sharing.
Oversee trustee account transactions and reconciliations.
Monitor daily cash flow and support fund transfers.
Prepare and review financial records for accuracy.
Perform other duties as needed to support the accounting team and overall financial operations.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with UltiPro or similar systems preferred.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of fixed assets and financial reporting.
Proficiency in ERP such as Oracle and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
