Accounting Manager (Hybrid)

Growing biotechnology company who is in the process of developing a patch that would administer vaccines instead of needle injection.

Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing accounting activities, financial reporting, and supporting other corporate activities. In this role, you will develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. You will manage outsourced accounting professionals and oversee a multitude of accounting and operating activities, including general ledger preparation, payroll, financial reporting, year-end close, tax and audit preparation, vendor management, and support for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities.

Responsibilities:

• Build and improve upon our finance and accounting functions and systems
• Month end accounting and reporting responsibilities include but not limited to journal entries, AP and AR oversight, cash flow management, banking, budgeting and financial planning, variance analysis, and creation of operating entity reporting packages with timely submission in compliance with the month end reporting calendar
• Coordination with external accountants, auditors, tax authorities
• Grants/contracts financial management and reporting
• Work to identify and create plans to upgrade other finance and accounting processes
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close, compliance with US GAAP, tax, and payroll obligations
• Ensure the GL structure is up to date to help provide insights to running the business
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable function and staff
• Assist with corporate operating activities
• Research and provide guidance on technical accounting issues
• Manage Company’s portfolio of insurance
• Manage stock option plan administration
• Manage 401k plan administration

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA and/ or public accounting audit experience preferred
• 5+ years of Accounting and Finance experience
• Biotech industry experience is a plus
• Previous general ledger system implementation experience preferred
• Previous experience with 409A evaluations is a plus
