We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to oversee all financial operations for our growing property management company in Long Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a keen eye for detail, and expertise in property management accounting. This position requires a professional who can manage a team, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide accurate financial reporting to support the company’s goals.

- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Develop and monitor budgets for multiple properties, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
- Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration to optimize financial workflows.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including property tax filings.
- Maintain records and oversee audits in accordance with GAAP, DRE, and company policies.
- Manage tenant billing, rent roll, and security deposit reconciliations.
- Track and report on property-specific income and expenses.
- Collaborate with property managers to streamline processes and resolve discrepancies.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes.
- Leverage technology to increase efficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in real estate accounting (property management is highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, real estate finance, and tax implications related to property management.
- Knowledge of California real estate laws and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of property management software (e.g., AppFolio).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team management and stakeholder interaction.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
