We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our clients manufacturing team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals dedicated to excellence in financial management. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of 4 accounting professionals, and all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role reports to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including: month and end-year processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, and check runs.
2. Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
3. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles, providing recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
4. Coordinating and completing annual audits, liaising with external auditors as necessary.
5. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
6. Participating in budgeting processes, preparing budget forecasts, and enforcing budgetary controls.
7. Reviewing financial reports to identify and explain variances, preparing and presenting financial reports to the management team.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing or engineering industry.
3. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting software. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
4. In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, as well as understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
7. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving financial objectives.
