Job Details

Dimension & Scope:
This position is responsible for the delivery of finance and accounting services to a client of a large company. This position will manage a large US-based accounting team and ensure that deliverable deadlines and quality standards are achieved. This position will also be responsible for maintaining client relationships at the Controller level.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of the processes and financial reporting related to all General Accounting, Master Reference Data, and Know Your Customer (KYC) activities performed by a US-based team. Specific duties include:
  • Responsible for selecting, training, developing, and managing performance of direct reports in area of specialty; and mentoring, coordinating, planning, and providing direction for work group(s) in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable legal requirements
  • Manages the daily accounting and month-end closing process
  • Responsible for timely preparation of management and KPI reports
  • Reviews and approves general ledger journal entries
  • Oversee Master Reference Data staff, ensuring accurate creation and maintenance of Chart of Account, Fixed Asset, Vendor Master, Customer
Master, etc. data within SLA
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with internal control policies and procedures
  • Reviews and approves balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assists in the preparation of audit deliverables
  • Analysis of the client’s financial information to ensure that the client deliverables are accurate and completed in accordance with the client contract
  • Instrumental in the transition and implementation of client’s accounting functions to an outsourced solution including the re-design of the
transaction flows, set-up of the accounting software, etc.
  • Develop and periodically review the accounting policies and procedures and ensure that all requisite internal controls are implemented and operating properly
  • Facilitate the communication flow between all levels of the client’s organization and the appropriate personnel
  • Ongoing analysis of the transaction processes to recognize and establish best practices and implement those practices across the accounting
functions
  • Timely resolution of client service issues within the parameters established in the client contract

Qualifications
Education & Professional Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or university with 5+ years related experience or Equivalent combination of education
and experience


Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience required in managing a large accounting group performing standard F&A processes for general accounting, fixed assets,
accounts payable, and accounts receivable, etc.
  • SAP software experience a strong plus
  • Must have proficiency with various software applications programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong customer-service orientation as demonstrated in previous relevant roles
  • Ability to manage relationships with direct reports and colleagues inside and outside of the organization
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to review financial data
  • Leadership skills to motivate staff
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills; detail oriented
  • Some travel is required
