Accounting Manager

We are a premier supplier of performance parts and accessories for racers, truck and off-road enthusiasts. As a dynamic industry leading distributor, we are focused on high performance automotive aftermarket equipment.

The Accounting Manager leads the accounting team and ensures regular accounting tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position is responsible for overseeing the month-end close. This role is also responsible for driving process improvements within accounting as well as cross functionally.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Oversee the monthly financial close process, including identifying issues and opportunities to improve financial processes and the month end close
• Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple operating units including variance analysis and business insights against prior month, year-over-year, and to budget
• Institute, review, and approve regular Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Assist with processing month-end journal entries
• Establish, modify, enhance, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting control policies and procedures across the business units
• Support preparation of reporting and analysis of key performance indicators, sales, margin, and expense drivers, and product line/customer profitability
• Enhance Cash Flow reporting including development of Cash Flow statements and 13-week Cash Forecast
• Initiate and manage cross-functional projects and implement recommended solutions, along with evaluating and implementing new financial tools/systems/controls
• Support the annual business insurance renewal
• Assist with audits
• Lead, coach, and develop Accounting Team
• Participate in continuous improvement project team activities

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller in a business of similar size and nature, high-volume distribution-based company, preferred
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience and proficiency with ERP systems; Infor and or SX.e a plus
• Experience and proficiency with business intelligence tools; Microstrategy a plus
• Experience consolidating financial statements for multiple business entities (in Excel)
• Experience developing and maintaining cash forecasts

• Strong accounting, financial analysis, and project management skills
• Ability to identify, develop, and implement process improvement ideas
• Ability to communicate effectively (clear and concise) through writing, speaking, active listening, and presentation 
• High proficiency in Excel; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, related software
