We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our esteemed Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting department, including system implementation and integration, internal and external audits, policy formulation, standard operating procedures, and full-cycle accounting. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
2. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
3. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
4. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
5. Provide recommendations for improving systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
6. Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
7. Meet financial accounting objectives.
8. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
9. Oversee and manage the implementation and integration of accounting systems such as Workday and Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
3. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within the finance industry.
4. Previous experience with non-profit accounting, Big 4, and 571-l bank reconciliations is a plus.
5. Proficient in accounting software including Microsoft Dynamics GP and Workday.
6. Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
7. Proven experience in performing internal and external audits.
8. Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
9. Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data.
10. Attention to detail and accuracy.
11. Ability to direct and supervise.
12. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
13. Knowledge of standard operating procedures, policies, and internal controls.
14. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
15. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
