The ideal candidate should have experience with residential real estate property accounting and 3+ years managing accounting teams. and with Yardi or MRI. This position is onsite 5 days a week no remote work is offered at the moment.

We are on the hunt for a highly skilled and reliable Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing company, where one can enhance their skills and make a significant impact. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, ensuring the company's financial security, and preparing financial reports. You will work closely with the financial team to develop strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of our company.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Manage the preparation and support of all external audits.
3. Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements.
4. Review and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures.
5. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for the company's board of directors, company's executive team, and external users.
6. Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
7. Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate/overhead cost allocation.
8. Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
9. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.
10. Coordinate and strategize the budgeting, financial forecasting, and operating plan.
11. Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.
12. Support the company's residential, multifamily, and apartment projects, including those under Section 8.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (including pivot tables and vlookup).
6. Strong understanding of the financial and operational reporting, including revenue reporting, variance analysis, and key business metrics.
7. Prior experience in the construction industry, particularly in residential, multifamily, and apartments is highly desirable.
8. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present and explain management information clearly to a variety of audiences.
9. Proven leadership skills with experience in managing a team of professionals.
10. High attention to detail and accuracy, even under pressure.
11. Ability to work with large amounts of data, to interpret financial records, detect errors, and prepare financial reports.
12. Strong ethics, with a customer-oriented approach and a proactive attitude.
