Job Details

We’re seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, who is looking to broaden their skill set and gain valuable e-commerce operations experience. You’ll be the key driver of our month-end close process and take ownership of the general ledger. You’ll manage one direct report, you’ll support cross-functional operational initiatives, including but not limited to managing inventory from procurement, transit, storage, and stock management and forecasting.

This is a roll-up-your-sleeves role perfect for someone who enjoys variety, values ownership, and is eager to wear multiple hats.

Responsibilities:

Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Maintain accurate general ledger and financial statements in QuickBooks Online
Manage and mentor one accounting staff member
Prepare and review inventory reports, reconcile inventory balances, manage inventory from purchase to sale. Manage inventory levels, product listings, and pricing strategies to maximize sales and minimize stockouts.
Manage website stock levels and manage inbound container activity.
Support cash flow management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processes
Assist with tax preparation, compliance filings, and support external accountants/auditors
Build and improve processes for better financial controls and scalability
Create and maintain Excel-based financial models and templates for internal reporting
Help develop and enforce accounting policies, ensuring GAAP compliance
Oversee day-to-day e-commerce operations, ensuring smooth functionality and optimal performance of the online platform.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, carriers, and other external partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
Experience in inventory accounting (e-commerce, manufacturing, or CPG is a plus)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment
Comfortable with ambiguity and eager to take ownership across multiple domains
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
CPA or prior startup experience a plus, but not required
