We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our thriving agriculture business. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, receipts, and payments. This position will require a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and an outstanding work ethic.

Responsibilities:

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for the following:

1. Processing accounts payable for the organization, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company policies.
2. Managing vendor relations and building effective partnerships.
3. Maintaining historical records by filing documents electronically and physically.
4. Preparing reports detailing accounts payable status and presenting them to senior management.
5. Reconciling the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
6. Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
7. Assisting in month-end closing procedures, including the preparation and posting of accruals.
8. Identifying discrepancies and resolving billing issues.
9. Working closely with the purchasing department to resolve invoice discrepancies.
10. Participating in financial audits, providing auditors with necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should possess the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel.
3. Experience with accrual accounting and accounts payable.
4. Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
5. Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
6. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
8. Ability to handle a high volume of invoices and work in a fast-paced environment.
9. Strong organizational and time management skills.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service orientation.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Knowledge of general accounting procedures and regulatory standards.
13. Familiarity with accounting software, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
