Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic legal team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process for our law firm. You will work closely with our finance team to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, compliance with sales tax filings, and ACH payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, elite accounting software, and sales tax filings.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounts payable process from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices
• Verify and reconcile invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents
• Review and process expense reports and credit card transactions
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 forms and payment terms
• Ensure compliance with sales tax filings and remittance requirements
• Process ACH payments and wire transfers
• Assist with month-end close and year-end audit processes
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
• Proficiency in elite accounting software such as Elite 3E or Aderant Expert
• Strong understanding of sales tax filings and remittance requirements
• Experience with ACH payments and wire transfers
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
