Job Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for gathering the appropriate information to ensure that all controls are followed and all necessary documentation is obtained in order to obtain approval for vendor payments.
  • Ultimately responsible for the review and approval of all accounts payable batches prior to posting by the Accounts Payable Specialists.
  • Directly responsible for verifying that all checks match the vouchers prior to being sent for signatures and the final AP run is forwarded to the bank for positive pay verifications.
  • Directs and manages the duties of the all AP staff, and verifies that all vouchers and daily responsibilities are executed in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ultimately responsible for understanding and practicing all Lerner’s Accounts Payable policies and procedures, and for managing a well-informed, efficient, and effective AP staff.
  • Directs, on a monthly basis, the AP staff in reconciliation of the corporate credit cards.
  • Responsible for the accurate reimbursement of the management (central disbursement) account.
  • Coordinates all end of month accruals and reconciliations as needed between the AP system and the General Ledger
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with the Purchasing Manager to maintain clean and accurate Accounts payable and purchase order data within Yardi Voyager 7s.
  • Effectively manage the matching of PO’s to Invoices so that the close-out of PO’s is accurate and timely.
  • Effectively educate and train various Lerner employees with regard to the prescribed controls and documentation to be followed in the Accounts Payable process.
  • Serves as liaison with Executive Management for all Accounts Payable matters.
  • Responsible for efficient and accurate year-end 1099 process, and for properly maintaining the vendor data.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Operations Accounting.

Requirements:
  • College degree in related Accounting field preferred
  • 3 - 6 years of management experience in an Accounts Payable Department with an automated accounting system
  • Experience with an AP automation system or Yardi is preferred
