Job Details
Responsibilities
As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for managing and
performing the month-end close process, including accrual accounting, reconciliations,
accounts payable, disbursements, bank deposits, internal controls, and tax &
compliance.
Prepare and review financial information for periodic financial audits with external firms
Ensure operational excellence and provide leadership for a small accounting team to
support continued growth of the company
Assist in evaluation of tax implications for various situations and assist in making
recommendations
Ensures the maintenance of and adherence to a documented system of accounting
policies and procedures which are consistent with operational best practices
Holds team accountable for organizing policies and procedures into an SOP Manual to
guide controls and ensure adequate checks and balances
Payroll review and approval
Client Billing
Passthrough Vendor Billing
Coordinates systems and procedures
Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
Cash flow management
Ensure proper funding of benefit deductions
What You Will Bring
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in closing of
the books and financial statement preparation and analysis
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Excellent organizational skills with ability to set priorities to meet deadlines on schedule
Willingness to train and develop others
Knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, and rolling budgets
