Job Details

Currently they are in growth mode and looking to add an Assistant Estimator with 1+ years of experience working on commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Understand contract language, commitments, consumer expectations, and scope of project.
  • Conduct call campaigns to create subcontractor participation for all projects.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for all construction divisions.
  • Prepare timely quantitative and cost (materials and labor) estimates for construction projects by analyzing project drawings, specifications and RFP's.
  • Consult with architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effective cost reductions and constructability issues.
  • Distribute and coordinate plans, specifications, information, policies, ensuring each requirement is managed or covered appropriately.
  • Select and manage subcontractors throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as a project develops while comparing to historical pricing and/or internal evaluation.
  • Develop scope sheets for bid leveling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Construction from an accredited university, preferred; a combination of on-the-job experience and/or formal education may be substituted for the degree.
  • 1+ years' commercial construction project estimating experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Procore or similar), Takeoff Software (On Screen or similar), Estimating Software (Timberline, Destini or similar) and BlueBeam.
