Job Details

Established Medical Malpractice Defense Litigation firm with offices in downtown Manhattan and Red Bank, NJ seeks a New Jersey medical malpractice defense attorney with SOLID experience (8-10 years) to handle cases from inception to trial. Must be adept at medical records review, research and analysis of medical issues, defending clients at depositions, arbitrations and mediations, negotiating settlements, and have excellent research and writing skills.
New Jersey Bar admission required; NY Bar admission is a plus. Must be able to travel to courts in NJ. Experience with electronic billing preferred. Must be well versed in New Jersey court rules and practices

Responsibilities:

As an Associate Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Representing clients in all stages of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and appellate proceedings.
2. Conducting comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
3. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and settlement agreements.
4. Managing discovery processes, including document review, depositions, and interrogatory responses.
5. Providing legal advice to clients on a broad range of issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
6. Handling cases involving medical malpractice and wrongful death, including investigation, case evaluation, and trial preparation.
7. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and resolving any issues that arise in a timely and professional manner.
8. Collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient and effective case management.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for the Associate Attorney position will possess the following qualifications:

1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in legal litigation and trial defense.
4. At least 2-3 years of exposure to medical malpractice and wrongful death cases.
5. Proven experience in discovery, legal writing, and legal research.
6. Excellent client-facing and resolution skills.
7. Ability to provide sound legal advice and prepare comprehensive legal documents.
8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
9. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
