Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Associate Attorney, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
2. Selecting jurors, arguing motions, meeting with judges and questioning witnesses during the course of a trial.
3. Studying and interpreting laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.
4. Directing and coordinating law office activity, including delivery of legal advice and preparation of legal documents.
5. Conducting pretrial discovery, negotiating settlements and conducting trials.
6. Examining legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit.
7. Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
8. Gathering evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to the Georgia Bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on trial law, civil litigation, commercial litigation, real estate litigation, construction litigation, corporate fraud, embezzlement, and business litigation.
4. Proven experience with depositions, hearings, trials, and discovery management.
5. Proficient in drafting and interpreting legal documents.
6. Exceptional analytical skills and a strong understanding of legal research.
7. Excellent interpersonal and courtroom skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
10. High ethical standards and professional integrity.
