Due to growth, we are seeking an Estate Planning Tax Attorney with a background in both estate planning and tax law to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with high-net-worth clients, business owners, and families to develop tailored strategies for wealth preservation, asset protection, and tax-efficient transfers.

This role offers flexibility, allowing candidates to tailor their practice to the areas of tax planning they enjoy most, including estate planning, asset protection, wealth transfer, business succession, charitable giving, and income tax integration. Some attorneys prefer to focus exclusively on estate planning or tax strategy, while others enjoy a balanced mix—for example, 50% estate planning, 25% trust and estate administration, and 25% litigation. Whether you prefer a specialized focus or a diversified practice, we provide the support and structure for attorneys to develop their ideal practice while contributing to the firm’s overall success.

- Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, business entities, buy-sell agreements, and related estate planning documents.
- Provide comprehensive advice on estate planning strategies, tax implications, and asset preservation, including advanced planning for charitable giving, business succession, and integration with income tax planning.
- Assist clients through the probate process, including petition filings, court representation, and estate administration.
- Oversee estate and trust administration to ensure legal compliance and timely resolution.
- Communicate with clients clearly, explaining complex legal options and processes to assist them in making informed decisions.
- Offer strategic legal guidance on business formation, special needs planning, asset protection, and tax audit representation.
- Collaborate with clients to design and implement customized estate planning solutions that align with their long-term goals.
Looking For:
- Commitment to a billable requirement of 1850 hours
- Licensed to practice law in Utah
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; an LLM in estate planning or tax law is strongly preferred, but not required
- A background in accounting or finance is a plus
You Should Know Some of the Following:

- Experience with federal estate tax returns and federal gift tax returns is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
