Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- Defend insurers in first-party property claims, including coverage disputes and bad faith litigation
- Manage all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, motions, and other court filings
- Evaluate claims, develop defense strategies, and provide legal opinions to clients
- Represent clients in mediation, settlement negotiations, and court proceedings
- Work closely with insurance carriers and adjusters to ensure effective case management
- Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary to advocate for clients’ interests
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active state bar membership
- 1-5 years of experience in first-party property defense or some sort of civil defense
- Strong litigation skills, including motion practice and discovery experience
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with insurance coverage analysis and bad faith claims preferred
