Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Defend insurers in first-party property claims, including coverage disputes and bad faith litigation
  • Manage all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, motions, and other court filings
  • Evaluate claims, develop defense strategies, and provide legal opinions to clients
  • Represent clients in mediation, settlement negotiations, and court proceedings
  • Work closely with insurance carriers and adjusters to ensure effective case management
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary to advocate for clients’ interests

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active state bar membership
  • 1-5 years of experience in first-party property defense or some sort of civil defense
  • Strong litigation skills, including motion practice and discovery experience
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with insurance coverage analysis and bad faith claims preferred
