Auto CAD Drafter

We are currently seeking a highly motivated CAD Drafter.

Overview:
Design and detail all supporting drawings and documents needed for fabrication and associated projects for our Manufacturing Services.

Essential Job Functions:

• Basic knowledge for the variety of common/typical structural steel members and their basic application.
• Use customer drawings to generate a 3D model that will be the basis for detailing shop fabrication drawings.
• Generate detailed shop fabrication drawings derived from 3D model, Customer Drawings, AISC, and OSHA
• Review customer drawings and generate field erection drawings as well as shop drawings for fabrication.
• Generate a material cut list based on structural detail drawings.
• Create bill of material (B.O.M.) from customer drawings using the excel layout template in a timely manner and transmit to Project Manager.
• Answer questions from the customer, submit drawings, raise RFI’s, get customer to sign off on drawings.
• Check all drawings that are created before issuing “check set” to project manager.
• Issue “check set” of spools to Project manager for verification of fabrication and correct all discrepancies.
• Make revisions as required.
• Generate “as built” drawings from work copies received back from shop for pipe and vessels.
• Issue final as-built drawings for data package to the project manager and save a copy in the job file.
• When drawings are created by others, check dimensions, material grades, cut lengths, etc. before issuing to manufacturing project manager.
• Assist on concept design projects with guidance of project manager and customer.
• Be able to communicate any issues with project manager and shop personnel pertaining to fabrication.
• Be able assist with generating any detailed RFI’s (Request for Information) with supporting documentation back to customer.
• Attend weekly team meetings and update on all CAD status.
• Other duties as assigned.

License/Certifications/Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of Autodesk Inventor software. (Required)
• Thorough knowledge of Advance Steel Structural 2018 (Preferred)
• Thorough knowledge of Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc. (Required)
• Strong work ethic, high integrity along with a professional appearance and demeanor. (Required)
• Basic knowledge of AISC, OSHA regulations. (Preferred)
