We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our client, a Manhattan law firm. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and finance, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing our firm's financial data, from reconciling accounts to managing invoices and expenses. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Previous experience in a law firm setting is appreciated, but not required.

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing our firm's financial data, from reconciling accounts to managing invoices and expenses. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage all financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, payments, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank accounts and petty cash accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurate and up to date.
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports, assisting with forecasting and budgeting.
- Handle and process all invoices received for payment and undertake the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met, both internally and externally.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain orderly filing systems for all financial documents.
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and reporting.
- Collaborate with the team to improve financial processes and efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within a law firm or legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Proven experience in expense management and budgeting.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
