Job Details

Business Development Manager are responsible for identifying, vetting and qualifying leads, networking within target customers, attaining preferred vendor status, and participating in various training activities. They rely on their relevant experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of tasks that contribute to increased projects. They are a self-starter with ability to work both independently as well as with the team. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. They have a deep understanding of client products, capabilities, industry and customers. They must enjoy juggling diverse responsibilities, taking initiatives on new projects and working as a team player. They will handle all communications professionally, handle confidential situations adeptly, and adapt to new situations with ease.

What You Will Do:
  • Work to secure contracts
  • Identify new opportunities, projects, and customers for the company to pursue
  • Draft responses to RFPs and other bidding documents
  • Directly engage and build relationships with investment professionals and operations personnel via phone, in-person meetings and email
  • Participate in local networking
  • Research networking websites, competitors, industry publications, social media and events to identify key prospects
  • Attend business development meetings and companywide meetings regularly
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with internal colleagues—product, marketing, legal, finance—to accelerate sales cycle and close new business
  • Effectively communicate our Mission, Vision, and Strategy
  • Represent the core values that underpin our culture and brand

What You Should Have:

***Proposal Writing/Management and government agency experience is required***

  • Proven Business Development or other relevant experience
  • Experience selling to government agencies
  • Experience using government sources to identify upcoming opportunities
  • Experience in identifying and qualifying sales leads
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
  • Excellent time and project management skills with adherence to deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information and business matters
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive, team player demeanor
