Job Details

Job description:
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online (QBO) for client accounts, including payroll and non-payroll management.
  • Work with financial systems commonly used by local governments.
  • Analyze and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital assets, and long-term liabilities.
  • Apply cash, accrual, and modified/full accrual accounting principles.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and present data clearly to clients.
  • Oversee accounts payable and payroll processing.
  • Prepare depreciation schedules, debt amortization schedules, and trial balances.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in account analyses.
  • Propose and record adjusting journal entries to correct accounting errors when needed.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience in a CAAS practice group specializing in small and local government clients OR 5+ years of accounting experience working for a small or local government
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online preferred
  • Familiarity with municipal financial accounting systems preferred
