Job Details
CAD Drafter/ Designer that can prepare and design detailed construction drawings as well as related maps/exhibits used in planning and construction of civil engineering projects using Autodesk and Bentley products as well as other modeling software used by the company.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Ability to design in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Ability to lead plan preparation from survey data and base map through final mylars and record drawings with minimal direction.
Ability to set up and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards.
Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings.
Assisting in the preparation of engineering drawings based on detailed sketches and redline markups provided by designers and engineers.
Utilizing Civil 3D tools and performing basic calculations to support drawing layouts.
Working within a project team and professional office environment.
Required Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of the use of AutoCAD and MicroStation software, including, but not limited to, the development of roadway and pavement layout and grading, horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, sections, and knowledge of CAD standards.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Independent, focused and responsible work ethic.
Attentive to detail.
Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
High School graduate, GED, or above/ Preferred, Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology or another related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in civil engineering design.
Minimum of 5 years’ production experience with Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley Open Roads software.
Experience with BIM 360 or ProjectWise collaboration tools is a plus but not required.
