Job Details
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced, results driven environment. Candidates need the ability to complete periodic and ad hoc reports under strict deadlines and to critically review the reports for accuracy. The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the day to day oversight of external audits, preparation and analysis of internal and external financial statements, and accounting of properties under development along with stabilized operating properties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation of all required deliverables associated with the external audits
Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including ASC 820 Fair Value Measurement
Lead technical research efforts to ensure that proper GAAP accounting treatment is performed for all transactions, including the preparation of memos to be included in company’s Accounting Policies
Assist in the preparation and administration of internal financial reporting packages and third-party Fund investment reporting packages
Performs month-end close procedures, including preparation of monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
Prepares monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, statement of cash flows, and budget vs. actual variance reports
Prepares and submits monthly loan draw requests to the lender or applicable 3rd party
Maintain books and records for Maintenance Associations
Reports on budget vs. actual variances
Review and approve recurring and nonrecurring invoices within payment processing system
Assists the Property Manager with accounting, budgets, forecasting and general inquiries
Provide support to Asset Management, as needed
Promotes process efficiency and creates a best practices environment
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, Advanced degree preferred
CPA required
2-4 years relevant audit and real estate experience
Proficient Excel skills strongly preferred
Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
