Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Chief Estimator to join our team. This is a permanent position and an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to take the lead in our estimating department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, cost estimation, project estimation, and management. You will play a pivotal role in our company, contributing to our strategic direction, growth, and profitability.

As a Chief Estimator, you will:

1. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of estimators to prepare accurate, timely, and comprehensive cost estimates.
2. Review and evaluate project plans and specifications to determine the total cost of a project.
3. Develop strategies to meet project goals, including identifying potential cost advantages and efficiencies.
4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
5. Maintain an up-to-date database of construction costs, trends, and market conditions.
6. Present and explain estimates to clients and stakeholders, addressing any concerns or queries.
7. Manage and oversee the bidding process, including the preparation of bid documents and the evaluation of bids.
8. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the availability of materials and equipment as per project requirements.
9. Monitor project progress, updating estimates and forecasts as necessary.
10. Contribute to the development and implementation of estimating standards and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

To qualify for this exciting role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 10-15 years of commercial construction experience and 5+ years in Commercial estimating, including leading others.
3. Proficient knowledge of construction costs and principles, project management, and relevant software tools.
4. Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
6. Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
7. Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best possible cost for materials and labor.
8. A results-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
9. The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
10. Professional certification in Estimating or Project Management will be an added advantage.
