Job Details

Job Functions:

  • Assists in the planning, development, and maintenance of a Nursing Services Orientation and Competency Program.
  • Participates in presentation of the Orientation Program to all Nursing and Clinical Staff.
  • Available to clinical staff when on duty.
  • Develop a community education program
  • Works collaboratively with V.P. of Physician Practices and the Directors of Operation.
  • Provides feedback to departmental managers on individual staff member’s performance
  • Attends education related meetings.
  • Participates in the education committee and attends meeting quarterly.
  • Incorporates the roles of leader in learning activities that support the clinical staff in developing and maintaining continuing professional nursing competence.
  • Assist learners to identify both their learning needs and effective learning activities required to meet those needs.
  • Integrates relevant research outcomes into clinical staff developmental and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate leadership by maintaining educational or clinical competencies appropriate to role, reflecting own professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of relevant educational content and appropriate methods of delivery and the ability to develop and facilitate relevant and effective education for adult learners.
  • Collects pertinent information related to potential educational needs of the clinical staff and the organization.
  • Analyzes assessment data to determine the target audience and learner needs.
  • Identifies needs are validated with the clinical staff, content experts and other educators when possible and appropriate.
  • Identifies the general purpose and educational objectives for each learning activity and develops appropriate curriculum.
  • Conducts comprehensive evaluation of educational activities.
  • Future educational activities are planned incorporating feedback data.
  • Provides peers with constructive feedback regarding their practice.
  • Collaborates with organizations and other professionals in teaching, consultation, management, research, leadership, facilitation and change agent activities.
  • Participates in and uses evidence-based research to identify strategies for improving professional development activities, clinical practice and patient outcomes.s.
  • Advocates and plans for appropriate support services for educational activities.
  • Ensures that educational programs are congruent with organizational goals and are based on identified needs.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Associates in Nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Licensure: New Mexico RN or Compact State License.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS (within 12 months of hire)
  • 3+ years in nursing
  • Interest and ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Understanding of DNV accreditation standards
