SUMMARY:
Responsible for the daily programming and operation of the Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) laser cutting machine. Follows established quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Programs, sets up, and operates CNC laser cutting machine or other machinery according to blueprint specifications.
• Utilizes G or M code, CAD and CAM software (Truetops preferred).
• Tests accuracy of settings and programs.
• Operates machines and monitors operation and controls panel displays to detect malfunctions and make adjustments.
• Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function
• Startup, operation, shutdown and maintenance of CNC fiber laser machine.
• Select nozzles for particular material being processed.
• Load programs and set machine parameters to achieve best performance.
• Operate gantry, jib crane, and forklift
• Load/install cutting fixtures onto machine. Also, uninstall and unload store fixtures.
• Troubleshoot and identify machine problems.
• Perform first, last and periodical checks on parts utilizing precision measuring equipment and associated quality documents.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Two (2) years of directly related experience.
• Basic reading, writing, and some advanced math skills required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create blueprints and schematics. \
