Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Commercial Superintendent, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all stages of project life cycle and ensuring that projects are completed within time and budget constraints.
2. Directing day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force, including assistants, crew leaders, subcontractors, and other construction-related personnel.
3. Coordinating and supervising all construction activities, ensuring the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes.
4. Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors.
5. Ensuring all construction operations are in compliance with design specifications and with policies, procedures, and regulations.
6. Managing the scheduling, delivery, and use of materials, the quality of construction, worker productivity, and safety compliance.
7. Conducting regular meetings with project staff and management to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
8. Resolving any issues that may arise and ensuring customer satisfaction.
9. Implementing and enforcing comprehensive safety programs.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Commercial Superintendent position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Commercial Superintendent in the construction industry, with a focus on Federal, Tenant Improvement (TI), Healthcare Construction, Hospitality, and K-12 projects.
2. Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and applicable building codes.
3. Exceptional leadership abilities with a capacity to manage diverse teams.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for identifying and resolving potential issues before they escalate.
5. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors.
6. Proficiency in using construction management software and other industry-related technology.
7. A commitment to safety, with the ability to oversee and enforce comprehensive safety programs.
8. A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
9. Certifications in construction safety, project management, or other relevant areas are a plus.
