About the Role:
The role of the Contracts Manager is to identify and create robust and rigorous processes and guidelines for client and vendor engagements here. The role will also create the overall structure and rules of engagement under which we will conduct business with their partners, clients and vendors. The role will serve as team lead to review contracts associated with the sale of our product and services. In this role, the individual will be responsible for reviewing contracts with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and ensuring alignment with company procedures, policies, insurance, regulatory, and legal matters. As part of this role, a successful individual will help work with the department leaders to ensure great customer/vendor relations and compliance with contract terms and conditions. Collaboration and partnership will include all levels of management and interfaces between clients, finance, sales and marketing.

Job Details

MUST HAVE - 5+ years of contract management experience within Pharmaceuticals or Healthcare industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contract Process Development, Management/Maintenance (60%)
  • Review current multiple processes and create a proposal to consolidate and streamline Sanguine’s business processes and rules of engagement with clients, vendors & partners
  • Develop, document and implement the company’s contracting strategy
  • Work with IT to automate areas within the contracting process to increase effectiveness & efficiencies
  • Manage the contract lifecycle management tool, including contract request process, facilitating cross-functional training and communication on the contracting process, supporting contracting through process lifecycle with -business requestors, tracking and managing contract requirements.
  • Drafting templates and include reviews of customer’s contract language proposals and identify issues for management review
  • Coordinate approvals, signatures, notarization, and legalization of documents.
  • Support records management program implementation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Contract Services and Procurement teams at Pharmaceutical companies to improve the contracting process, which may include developing and delivering process training, identifying and adopting best practices and supporting process improvement initiatives.

  • Stakeholder Communication (40%)
  • Interacts will all levels of management and interfaces between finance, sales and marketing, operations and pricing as well as outside vendors
  • Reviews communications, coordinates responses, and assures effective communications between the Sales Operations and Legal department; compiles data and generates reports, estimates, and trend analyses

Position Requirements:

Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing, reviewing, revising and negotiating agreements, as well as previous experience working with large corporate healthcare and pharmaceutical clients.
  • Experience in procurement and contracting required.
  • Focus on legal study or pursuing a JD with experience in legal positions highly desirable.
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills are required.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required
  • Financial acumen and analytical review skill set
  • International contracting experience, with a focus on distribution agreements
  • A self-starter who is detail oriented, analytical, highly organized, can work independently, and can work on multiple projects at the same time is required
  • The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and be able to interface effectively with clients, attorneys, and other professionals is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Must be able to maintain a professional working environment, free from background distractions and noise.

Preferred:
  • Legal experiences
  • Paralegal/Law Degree
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience; contracting Pharmaceutical products and services
  • Procurement & contracting experience in a CRO or CDMO
  • CRO/CDMO contracting experience
