Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and reporting of all financial records.
  • Maintenance and revision of the chart of accounts.
  • Preparation, accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports.
  • Cost accounting and cost finding functions.
  • Internal and external auditing, accounts payable.
  • Responsible for all credit and collections functions, including reviewing and updating procedures, processing for in-house accounts, patient billings, verifications of insurance coverage, processing of all discharges, accounts receivables, including write offs for un-collectibles and the establishment of appropriate reserves.
  • Direct the preparation, accuracy and timeliness of all payroll functions including preparation and distribution, review and updating of procedures and control reports, and the preparation of all essential reports to Local, State and Federal agencies.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining adequate and appropriate staffing patterns within the areas under his/her supervision.
  • Delegates duties and responsibilities and deals effectively with outside agencies.
  • Directs and coordinates Hospital activities concerned with financial administration.
  • Devises and installs new or modified accounting systems.
  • Prepares detailed analyses of financial statements.
  • Arranges for outside audit activity of Hospital accounts.
  • Makes recommendations to Executives concerning means of reducing Hospital operating costs and increasing revenues.
  • Directs the development of policies and procedures for the Accounting Department.
  • Directs the Quality Assurance Program for the Accounting Department.
  • Identifies educational needs for the department and helps plan and teach the program.
  • Seeks clarification of duties when indicated.
  • Offers assistance and/or instruction to co-workers.
  • Extends courtesy and consideration for others in interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrates professional manner in work setting.
  • Channels suggestions, criticism and questions to appropriate persons.
  • Establishes annual departmental work plans and goals and reports periodically on progress.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
  • Healthcare experience (5+ years)
