Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Close Process
  • Oversee and schedule the monthly close process.
  • Complete the monthly consolidation process.
  • Review and approve work prepared by Senior Accountants.
  • Prepare supporting workpapers for month-end close and financial balances.
  • Conduct monthly actual vs. budget analysis and prepare board reports.
  • Develop schedules for quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) financial statements, including footnotes.

Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial reporting best practices.
  • Implement and document process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
  • Lead the adoption of new accounting pronouncements and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Tax & Cash Management
  • Prepare supporting workpapers for the annual tax return and coordinate its preparation with an external CPA firm.
  • Perform cash flow projections and manage liquidity to optimize returns on excess cash.
  • Provide weekly cash forecasts for lenders.
  • Strategic Initiatives & Special Projects
  • Assist with due diligence for potential acquisitions.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and other ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
  • CPA license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience with a "Big Four" or national firm.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in a publicly traded company, focusing on general accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage deadlines efficiently.
  • Experience with ERP software (NetSuite preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle complex financial issues with sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
  • Adaptability to work extended hours when necessary.
