Job Summary:
The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food manufacturing industry and a deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the company’s accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support strategic decision-making.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to improve cost efficiency.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for business growth.
Collaborate with senior management to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in food manufacturing or a related industry.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
