Job Details

The Controller will play a key leadership role in managing all general accounting functions and financial operations. You’ll be instrumental in building scalable financial systems, automating workflows, and maintaining key banking relationships as we grow. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone excited to build efficient processes in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities
Accounting Oversight:
Lead and manage all general accounting functions including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Manage external audits and tax filings in coordination with external providers.
Financial Systems & Automation:
Identify, implement, and optimize accounting and finance platforms to streamline operations.
Drive automation initiatives across billing, expense reporting, and financial reporting processes.
Support integration of financial tools with other internal systems.

Banking & Treasury:
Manage company banking relationships and maintain strong cash management practices.
Monitor cash flow, forecast liquidity needs, and manage capital deployment strategies.
Support fundraising and investor reporting activities as needed.
Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with department leads to support budgeting, forecasting, and spend visibility.
Potential to build and manage a small finance/accounting team as the company scales.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
6+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally including startup or high-growth company experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Proven experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and financial automation tools.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable operating both strategically and tactically in a lean environment.
