We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a solid background in finance and construction management to contribute to our company's financial growth and stability. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing strategic financial leadership. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, excellent contract negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of business strategy.


  • Oversee all company accounting practices, including preparing financial statements and reports, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities.
  • Evaluate and manage risk, perform profitability analyses, and manage the company's capital, including receivables, inventory, assets, and investments.
  • Lead contract negotiations to ensure the best financial outcomes for the company.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic business plans and make recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants.
  • Drive the company's financial planning and budgeting processes to maximize profitability and growth.
  • Manage and monitor all aspects of the company's P&L.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.
  • Proven experience in financial forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in using financial software and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Excellent contract negotiation skills with a keen eye for optimizing contract terms and managing legal risk.
  • Strong understanding of construction management and business strategy.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
