Job Details

The Controller I position will be responsible for managing the finance, accounting, payroll, and employee benefits related affairs for select companies in the group. In coordination with other finance team members, this key contributor will assist developing and maintaining the accounting and finance records and procedures by interfacing with regulatory bodies, vendors, consultants, management, and internal team members.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain, create, and evaluate accounting policies and procedures.
2. Perform month end close procedures including journal entries and reconciliations.
3. Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports and financial statements.
4. Prepare and update budget and forecast models.
5. Maintain cash balance, cash forecast, and prepare transfer requests.
6. Manage supporting ledger and information to support records of the companies, such as accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, etc.
7. Resolve vendor invoice disputes and handle supply returns.
8. Assist company leaders (Company and subsidiary companies) with analysis as required.
9. Organize all accounting documents.
10. Co-manage quarterly and annual tax filings and reports including but not limited to: Use Tax Returns, Payroll Tax Returns, Property Tax Returns, 1099s and Annual Reports with the Secretary of State
11. Assist the CFO in managing the Company’s IT needs.
12. Manage communication with external auditors for the tax returns, financial audit, and worker’s compensation audit.
13. Perform other analysis and duties as may be requested by members of management.
14. Plan and execute duties in such a manner as to ensure company will maintain developmental timelines without sacrificing quality standards. In the event its probable timelines will slip, inform subsidiary and Know Bio management.
15. Performs duties in most efficient (balancing cost and effectiveness) manner possible.

BS Degree in Accounting required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.

Minimum 7-10 years of experience in corporate accounting preferably in a publicly traded company.
Prefer pharmaceutical or medical device development and manufacturing experience, but not required.
