We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic finance team in the education industry. As the Permanent Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights for decision-making
- Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with audit requirements
- Ensure accurate and timely multi-state tax reporting and compliance
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support as needed
- Continuously identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive in the market
Qualifications:
- CPA certification is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the education industry
- Extensive experience with Great Plains software or equivalent ERP systems
- Strong knowledge of multi-state tax reporting and compliance
- Proven experience managing the annual audit process
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
