We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic finance team in the education industry. As the Permanent Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. This is a permanent position that offers excellent growth opportunities and the chance to make a significant impact on our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights for decision-making
• Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with audit requirements
• Ensure accurate and timely multi-state tax reporting and compliance
• Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support as needed
• Continuously identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive in the market

Qualifications:

• CPA certification is required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the education industry
• Extensive experience with Great Plains software or equivalent ERP systems
• Strong knowledge of multi-state tax reporting and compliance
• Proven experience managing the annual audit process
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
