Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller plays a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as the company continues to enhance its quality offerings and undergoes rapid growth.


The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory manager who will lead the Accounting Teams, and will have a successful track record in setting priorities; as well as solid communication, technology, analytical, organization, management, decision-making, problem solving, strategic – thinking, detailed oriented and accountability skills.


Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). It is required knowledge and direct experience with regulations and provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.


It is required a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA) or chartered global management accountant (CGMA).


Candidate must have previous experience in international companies and/or in medium/large public accounting firms (better if one of the “big four”)


Duties and Responsibilities

· Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions

· Manages accounting functions on a day-to-day basis

· Responsible for timely, accurate and efficient accounting close on a monthly basis;

· Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

· Develops, analyzes, documents and implements internal controls;

· Responsible to maintain, review and enhance the SOX Control Matrix and coordinates, assists and executes the controls on a timely manner

· Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

· Develops, maintains and enhances accounting and finance policies, processes and procedures, seeking opportunities to revise or create new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting group.

· Enhances accounting department's use of software and integrates software into accounting processes and procedures;

· Performs technical accounting issue research and resolution as necessary;

· Assists the CFO with preparation and completion of the fiscal year budgeting process, evaluates business unit performance against budget, and develops forecasts/reforecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance.

· Responsible for local, state, federal tax and regulation compliance and reporting (including property and sales and use tax compliance and reporting);

· Manages preparation of regulatory filings;

· Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff

· Establishes and implements short and long-range accounting department goals, objectives, policies and procedures;

· Manages projects and initiatives as assigned.
