We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Accounting to join our construction industry team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead our accounting department and contribute to our company's financial strategy. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing accounting operations, overseeing financial reporting, and guiding the organization towards fiscal stability. This role requires a strong background in the construction industry, expertise in Epicor, MS Excel, and General Ledger, and the ability to close month-end processes effectively. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work closely with the executive team to develop financial strategies and plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, coordinate systems and procedures, and ensure that company assets are safeguarded.
  • Implement and manage effective and streamlined administrative/financial systems, including financial, accounting, legal, information technology, human resources, and physical infrastructure.
  • Train and lead a team of accounting professionals to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Assist in the development of the annual operating budget and monitor the actual conduct of operations against the budget.
  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Epicor, MS Excel, and General Ledger is required.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving goals.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.
