Controller

In business for over 40+ years - We are a family-owned berry farm looking for a Controller to join our growing team!

We are seeking a talented and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team in the finance industry. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in Microsoft NAV and Microsoft Dynamics NAV, cost accounting, month-end close, imported goods, financial statement preparation, monthly P&L, and inventory accounting. This is a high-stakes role that requires someone with a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the finance department and ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
• Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements
• Prepare monthly P&L reports and analyze variances to budget
• Manage inventory accounting and ensure that all inventory transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
• Analyze cost accounting data and provide recommendations to management on how to improve profitability
• Manage the import process, including tracking shipments, customs clearance, and payment of duties and taxes
• Work closely with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's goals and objectives
• Provide leadership to the finance team and ensure that all team members are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role in the finance industry
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft NAV and Microsoft Dynamics NAV
• Experience with cost accounting, month-end close, imported goods, financial statement preparation, monthly P&L, and inventory accounting
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• CPA or CMA certification preferred, but not required.
