Controller

We are a well-established, family-owned waste management company looking to grow our Finance and Accounting team!

The Controller will be responsible for supporting a wide variety of Accounting functions such as financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end closing.

The Controller will also contribute to annual budgets and financial forecasts, and work closely with the VP of Finance on special projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Lead financial reporting process for weekly and monthly reporting
• Oversee month-end closing process through preparation of reconciliations and analysis of income statement and balance sheets
• Manage cash flow forecasting, review, and approval of payments
• Responsible for ensuring monthly/quarterly financial forecasts, long term plans and annual budgets
• Maintain and perform comparative analysis of the long-term financial models
• Special projects as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong background in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Proficient in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Well organized and detail oriented
