Controller

We are a rapidly growing Hospitality company with BIG plans for expansion in 2023!

The Controller will work closely with the VP of Finance to bring all of our Accounting and Controllership operations in-house. The Controller will oversee all annual budgeting, financial reporting, month/year-end closing, P&L, reconciliations, and audit prep.

The Controller MUST have experience working in a high-growth environment, as we will be expanding significantly in 2023 and 2024!!!

Responsibilities:
Proactively manage cash flows, including leveraged and non-leveraged capital
Manage financial capital; model investment outcomes, measure investment performance over an agreed set of metrics, communicate investment results and business impact to CFO, brand executives, and BOD
Conduct meaningful proactive analysis to improve key business decisions focusing on management of capital efficiency and operating efficiencies
Grow brand and portfolio valuation – increase gross profit, assist brand leaders in optimizing P&L’s and balance sheet
Implement procurement, budgeting, and fiscally responsible procedures across brands to ensure an disciplined approach to cash management and spending.
Establish internal control processes required to manage and grow the business
Assist in defining the annual budget process and adjusting throughout the year
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on cost and cash management.
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
Establish KPI’s for finance & accounting teams
Effectively lead and grow the finance / accounting team
Develop and implement a risk management policy
Ensure controls are in place to manage third-party investments, cash held in escrow, and other non-bank positions
Expand financial reporting systems to determine daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual gross/net profit estimates and partner with brand leaders to ensure adherence to plan
Drive effective internal and external communication interactions
Effectively manage sponsor, bank, board of director and financial advisor relationships
Assist the financial evaluation of mergers and acquisition candidates
Lead accounting systems upgrades and/or cross functional/system integration efforts for improved reporting and workflows

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Masters Degree, CPA, or CMA is preferred
5+ years of professional Accounting experience in growing companies
Experience with financial reporting, and presenting financial information to Senior Leadership
Strong organizational skills
Experience with an ERP system such as Sage, NetSuite, or Great Plains
