Job Details
A well-established company in the defense sector is seeking a Controller to lead its financial operations. This role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, compliance, and strategic management to support business growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and experience managing financial operations within a highly regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and audits.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, industry regulations, and government contracting requirements.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
Develop and implement financial policies and strategies to optimize business performance.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk while maximizing profitability.
Supervise and develop a high-performing finance team.
Collaborate with key business units to align financial objectives with operational goals.
Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Oversee accounting systems and software (experience with SAP or similar ERP preferred).
Qualifications:
CPA required; MBA preferred.
10+ years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated industry.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance.
Experience with ERP systems, financial audits, and cost accounting.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with government contracting and regulatory frameworks (FARS, DFARS).
