Controller

We are a privately-owned waste management company with over 20 years in business!

The Controller will be responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting and finance functions at multiple site locations.

The Controller will lead all of our month/year-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit prep, and Pro forma filing.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the operations of the accounting functions which includes financial and cash management, disbursements, and balance sheet management and reconciliations.
Manage month-end, quarterly and year-end close, deliverables and timeline.
Lead state and local tax preparation and compliance.
Create and maintain corporate accounting policies.
Lead and coordinate work with external auditors.
Lead the development and implementation of internal controls.
Manage financial statement preparation, including quarterly consolidated, analysis of accounts and comparisons, ensure all reporting is timely and accurate.
Provide in-depth understanding of results and variances to budget, forecast and prior year.
Assist in the preparation of annual budget and interim forecasts.
Direct management responsibilities of accounting team.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years of well-rounded accounting experience
2+ years of experience within the waste industry
Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP
Ability to manage complex and dynamic situations
Proven analytical, negotiation and implementation skills
Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Accounting ERP systems
