We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This is a high-impact role that will offer substantial senior leadership exposure and the opportunity to drive long-term shareholder value in an exciting, complex, and fast-paced organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.
11. Assist with strategic planning by providing financial insights and analysis.
12. Support external audit processes.
13. Oversee capital projects reporting and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications:
1. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller with 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
2. Advanced degree in Accounting.
3. CPA or CMA preferred.
4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements.
6. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
7. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
12. Demonstrated leadership skills with a hands-on management approach.
13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
