Job Details

Jobot is working with a private equity owned consulting company looking to hire a highly motivated Controller on their team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as the company continues to grow. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory manager who, will have a successful track record in setting priorities; as well as excellent analytic, organization, and communication skills.

The position will oversee all accounting activities for the Company, and will be accountable for preparing the monthly financial statements and applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and proper accounting to revenues and other transactions, which will include assistance with account reconciliations, journal entries, and other general accounting functions and compliance.

The Controller will work closely with senior management across all functional areas.

  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department and handle all accounting functions, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management and financial reporting
  • Prepare and file a variety of tax filings, including but not limited to, sales tax and business property tax filings
  • Establish and maintain controls to safeguard company assets; document and recommends improvements to internal financial policies and procedures
  • Oversee the preparation of timely monthly financial statements and reports, including variance analysis versus budget and forecasts
  • Preparation of monthly reporting package to stakeholders and lenders
  • Lead the annual budget and monthly revenue forecast processes
  • Cash and treasury management, including daily cash reporting and cash projections in a leveraged environment
  • Sales commission calculations and preparation on a monthly basis in accordance with employee work agreements
  • Lead annual audit with external auditors and related information as needed
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Effectively lead the finance/accounting team by developing and coaching existing team members and hiring talent as needed
  • Work with and assist external accountants in preparation of tax returns
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or relevant field
  • Five to ten years of related experience required
  • CPA strongly preferred
