Job Details:

Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our financial management department, overseeing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, SOP's, P&L, variance, and year-end operations. This position is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional with a background in the Public School System and a strong understanding of financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Controller, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring all activities align with legal requirements and company policies.
2. Developing and implementing budgeting processes, forecasting models, and financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
3. Preparing and presenting detailed financial reports to the executive team, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
4. Implementing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
5. Managing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
6. Coordinating year-end operations, including tax planning and compliance, audit preparation, and financial statement preparation.
7. Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency.
8. Providing financial insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Permanent Controller position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification will be considered an advantage.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller, preferably within the Public School System.
3. Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, SOP's, managing P&L, identifying variances, and coordinating year-end operations.
4. Proficient in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
7. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in an understandable manner.
8. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, with the ability to ensure company compliance.
9. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
