Job Details:

Our organization is seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This is a pivotal role that will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role will also encompass management of tax and audit activities, cash flow, and financial risk management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic financial planning, a strong understanding of data analysis and performance metrics, and the ability to lead and inspire a team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
• Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and Board of Directors.
• Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
• Manage and coordinate all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.
• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
• Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
• Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
• Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all A-133 audit issues are resolved, and all 403(b) compliance issues are met, and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal, state and other required supplementary schedules and information.
• Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms.
• Work with the President/CEO on the strategic vision including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships on city, state, and national levels, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA, CMA or other related certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
• A decisive individual who possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation, and detail-oriented perspective.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory.
