We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This exciting opportunity is perfect for an individual with a strong background in investor reporting, monthly reporting, tax, and real estate. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the company. This includes the preparation of financial reports, direct investment activities, and the implementation of cash/capital improvement strategies.
Responsibilities:
As our Permanent Controller, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure that is adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
3. Coordinating activities of external auditors.
4. Managing the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
5. Calculating and issuing financial and operating metrics.
6. Providing financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
7. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
8. Directing and coordinating the company’s financial planning and budget management functions.
9. Monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results against budget.
10. Managing the preparation of all investor reporting and ensure timely and accurate completion.
11. Overseeing daily operations of the finance and accounting department.
12. Managing the preparation of all financial reports.
13. Ensuring compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.
14. Working with department managers and corporate staff to develop business plans for the company.
15. Establishing and implementing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CMA, or other related certification is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Proven experience in investor reporting, monthly reporting, tax, and real estate.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
11. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
