We are seeking a highly-skilled and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and development of internal control policies and procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the growth and success of our organization by leading financial decision-making and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
3. Conduct and lead the budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
4. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and cash flow analysis.
5. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
6. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
7. Support month-end and year-end close process.
8. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
9. Manage and conduct internal audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
10. Oversee risk management and insurance functions.
11. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
12. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the company.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
3. 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience in the construction industry.
4. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
5. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including experience creating financial statements and cash flow analysis.
6. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
7. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
8. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
11. Proven ability to lead a financial team and work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
12. Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
13. Strong understanding of project management principles.
14. Proficiency in risk management and financial analysis.
15. Highly skilled in budgeting and variance analyses.
16. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines.
